1:00PM-2:30PM (EDT)
Virtual workshop via Zoom
Sponsored by Princeton Recorder Society, Princeton, NJ
Using his book, “The Grammar of Ornamentation” which is an introduction to ‘free ornamentation’ in late baroque solo music, Eric will guide participants in the understanding and application of single note figures such as trills, stepwise motion around a melody, and leaps such as chord tones, etc. He will provide instruction for practicing figures and how to apply them in slow movements of solo baroque sonatas.
Participants will need to be able to play alto recorder and be reasonably comfortable with baroque solo music.
Cost: $15
Eric’s soft cover book or digital edition can be purchased through Von Huene.
