Welcome

The Sacramento Recorder Society is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization.  It is a chapter of the American Recorder Society and an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society. We welcome recorder players of all ages and abilities as well as players of other early music instruments such as lutes, viols, sackbuts, shawms, curtals, krummhorns, and percussion.  We  meet monthly September through June, from 6:45-9:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, at the Friends Meeting House, 890 57th St., between H and J.  Map

Most of our meetings are conducted by a professional early music specialist who teaches recorder technique and relevant music history and theory while exploring music of many eras. The Sacramento Recorder Society is an education organization, not a performing group, but many of our members belong to smaller consorts that do perform.

Please feel free to visit a few of our meetings. To join the Sacramento Recorder Society, please fill out our membership form and send it to the address on the SRS membership form 2022 -23

For regular announcements, please follow the blog and be sure to read our monthly newsletter. You’ll get an email when new announcements are posted, generally only a few per month.
